Pre/Post Surgical Instructions

The night before your pet goes under anesthesia give them plenty of opportunity to eat dinner. Remove any leftover food at 10pm. Your pet can have access to water until first thing in the morning, take it away as soon as you get up.

Please drop off your pet between 8 and 9am unless other arrangements have been made with us.

If your pet is on any medications be sure to ask the Doctor if they should have their usual doses on the day of surgery.

When you drop off your pet for their procedure make sure that you give us a phone number that you can be reached at during the day in case we need to get a hold of you.

You are welcome to call us any time to check how your pet is doing. Once their procedure is done we will give you a call to let you know how everything went and what time they will be ready to go home.

When you arrive to pick up your pet the Veterinary Technician or the Doctor will go over your pet's home care instructions as well as any medications that we are sending home. If you have any questions or concerns at this time do not hesitate to ask, we want you to feel comfortable with the information we have given you.

If you ever have any concerns after you get home feel free to give us a call and we will do our best to get everything resolved. We hope that your pet's surgery day will be a pleasant experience.

This is a general pre-surgical instruction sheet, you may be given different instructions by the Doctor based on your pet's needs.
